interview with the host and producer

1: How was hosting the cybermole project: season ii?
It definitely was a trip. It was one of the best hosting things that i have done ever. Interacting with our other talent and producers was really enjoyable and fun. As the series was in production, we all had this sense of bonding, especially me and ax. By the latter episodes, we had this tag team thing going on and it really excited the players and even us! The players really enjoied my presence, and related to my character in a way most people relate to the person who is in charge, but is so paranoid, it makes him crazy.

On the production side of things, I kinda came midstream, joining the staff after the casting process. I had a major part in helping create and plan challenges, and that was probably one of the most difficult things I have done, because these all had to be somewhat "real-life", which is a dimension I have never entered into before.

2: Did the contestants live up to your expectations? Why or Why not?
I think the contestants were more than their expectations. I read the applications, and looked at their profiles, and thought I had a good idea about them. After Day 1, things got much much interesting. They all had these personalities that I never had pictured in a million years, and they continued to amaze me.

3: What types of challenges did the contestants play in? and What is your favorite challenge?
I can't really tell you that, since you have to read the episodes to find out what happens. If I told you that, I'd have to kill you. But the challenges definitely were interesting, adding a real feel to the game, with things you may or may not see in a television version. It was difficult to create these things, but it was a fun process watching the players struggle with them.

My favorite challenge by far is the first challenge. I was given the design concept, and after doing some basic research, I had my plan of action. I had made the challenge difficult, to kinda set a fear for future challenges. After running it by ax, we determined that it was solveable (one of my major worries), and set out with it. You'll have to read episode i to find out more...

4: Tell me a bit about the people on the show.
Again, I can't comment on that, but what I can tell you is that they are a really interesting group of people, and after awhile, they really started to bond and mesh like a true group, even though one was the cybermole.

5: Do you have any favorites or really extreme personalities out of the group?
My favorite was the person we cast as the cybermole. They really was resilient, and was a great person to know and work with. I helped during the opening challenges with the cybermole, so I was able to get a little more in contact with them early in the game, and they really made the game sparkle.

6: If you could do it all over again, would you still host the series?
Most definitely. Hosting this game was really fun, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I'd do it again at a moment's notice. The experience is like none ever, and I don't regret dropping a personal hosting gig for this at all.

7: Have you hosted any other games previously?
Yes I have. Within the past year, I hosted The Mole: Online, a now defunct series for 1 and a half seasons. My game was highly regarded, and people had told me that they liked my design and my challenges, all home brewed, and that my demeanor during the whole game was great. They also liked the fact that I was accessable and willing to help and fix any problems. Many of them miss my game, but understand that I have gone on to bigger and better things.

8: Were there any big problems or difficulties in hosting the show?
There really was no real big problems in hosting the show, but in the beginning, when we were just getting started, we were really disorganized and missed a lot of our own deadlines. Also, having multiple people do everything really helped, but it hurt when we all did the same thing at the same time. People getting a message twice from the same person, but relayed by 2 different producers was quite frequent, but after the first couple of days, we got into a rhythm.

9: Can you tell me who the mole is and who's the winner?
You people really want to know more, don't ya? Well, since it is a cybermole and not a mole, I can't say. But as to the cybermole's identity, no. I won't tell you. As for the winner, no. You know what I'm going to say now...

Thanks to fighter for giving some time to participate in this interview and I hope that the cybermole project: season ii does very well!
